Saturday November 15th

  • Bus leaves from University of Iceland - Oddi 8:00 am. (ATT: CHANGE)
12 am - 5 pm Symposium
  • Kristinn Schram, Icelandic Centre for Ethnology and Folklore: Approaches to humour
  • Jón Jónsson, Storyworks:  Humour on the edge: the comedy of vagrants
  • Kolbeinn Proppé: Is humour like blóðmör (blood pudding), best sour?
  • Kristín Einarsdóttir: So, what did you think of the 'skaup'?: Annual satire from a social perspective
  • Elliott Oring, California State University: Contested performance and joke aesthetics
  • Sigurjón Baldur Hafsteinsson: From calf-skins to foreskins: Curating in the Phalic Museum
6 pm
  • Reception at ICEF exhibitions in ICEF in Hólmavík. The editorial  cartoons of Tryggvi Magnússon and photographer Brian Berg's exhibition Landscape in Motion.11:00 am  - 3.30 pm
8 pm
  • Symposium dinner at Café Riis.
9 pm  
  • Evening of humour with among others comedian Þorsteinn Guðmundsson, folklorist Kristín Einarsdóttir and the finals of the ICEF Humour Competition.
  • Music (DJ Addi) and open bar at Café Riis.

Sunday November 16th
 * Bus leaves for University of Iceland - Oddi before noon
